Individual therapy is all about you. You tell me your goals or what you want to change about yourself or your life, and then we work together to help you meet those goals in an effective way, a way that honors your unique needs and your personality. In fact, you may even want help just deciding what your goals actually are or why you feel like something has to change but you’re not sure what, or why. And that is great, because each session is about your hopes, your fears, your needs, your life.
Sometimes individual therapy is energizing. Other times deciding what to change, what to accept, and how to change or accept whatever “it” is can be hard. I help with this. I accept you where you are without judgment, and help you get where you want to go. I provide a safe space to help you work through whatever is holding you back, keeping you stuck, or stealing your joy. We will find workable solutions that are specific and individualized just for you.
Here are just some examples of things I regularly help people with:
- Anxiety, stress, and panic
- Depression
- Bipolar disorders
- Relationship issues
- Grief and loss, in its many forms
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders (OCD)
- Health and Illness Anxiety
- Parenting, including parenting (or being a sibling of) a child with special physical or development needs
- Problematic eating, mild to severe eating disorders, and body image
- Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size (HAES) approach
- Self-esteem
- Work and career issues
- School issues
- Personal growth goals (the sky’s the limit here!)
I work with people of all ages and from all backgrounds. If you keep struggling with the same problems over and over, feel lost or hopeless, or if you have life goals that “life” keeps getting in the way of, then please call or email me and we can talk about what you need to feel better and more authentically you.
